Bio

As a writer, spoken word artist, motivational speaker and radio personality, Selena J has been inspiring and motivating audiences both on and off the radio airwaves since 1998.

SPOKEN WORD POETRY

As a spoken word artist, she’s opened up for national recording artists such as Common, Mos Def,
Anthony Hamilton, Dwele, Tank, Jessica Care Moore and The Last Poets, amongst others.

Regardless of whether you’re listening or not, you can’t help but hear her.   The sound of her voice and the formulation of her words capture experiences so precisely that the words she speaks seem to soar straight out of her soul just before thoughtfully landing into yours.  Before you even know what’s happening, she will have captivated and set you free all, within the same breath.  Therefore, thought provoking and inspiring, with ‘sick‘ wordplay is a good way to describe Selena J as a spoken word artist.
